Introduction to Linux is a course I taught in the Fall of 2006 as a part of the nuACM's CPU program. This was a five-class series that attempted to teach the basics of Linux usage. We used Microsoft Virtual PC to run a Gentoo Linux LiveCD under Windows. I have placed my notes from that class here for future reference (and for those who took the class to refer back to).
- Class 1 - Introduction to Linux Culture and the Commandline
- Class 2 - The vi Text Editor
- Class 3 - The Emacs Text Editor, Linux Distributions, and Desktop Environments
- Class 4 - How to be a Sysadmin
- Class 5 - Linux Development and Shell Scripting
